This is a high effeciency switching mode 12v regulator with heat sink attached. Output is regulated at DC12V and pre-wired. It doesn't generate heat as much as the 78xx series regulator. It is perfect fit for all vehicle, boat, and bike with 12V~24V electric system. Of course it works great for solar system. No pigtail requiredbr>
